Faye’s journey into the world of jewellery began in 2004, at the age of 16. What started as a part-time job as a retail assistant quickly grew into a passion that would shape her future in ways she never expected.

It all began at Patches, an independent jewellers in Shrewsbury, where Faye got her first taste of the jewellery industry. Over the next few years, she worked for various high street jewellers, gaining valuable experience and learning about different aspects of the trade. Eventually, she joined J.A. Woodroffe, a well-respected independent jewellers in Shrewsbury. Although she initially worked in retail, Faye soon found herself drawn to the workshop.

She became fascinated by the process of making and repairing jewellery, and when given the opportunity to help with polishing, she eagerly accepted. It was a pivotal moment — the spark that made her realise she didn’t just want to sell jewellery; she wanted to be part of creating and restoring it.

Determined to develop her skills further, Faye enrolled in a night school course in Jewellery & Silversmithing at Birmingham City University. The course confirmed what she already felt — jewellery making was more than just an interest; it was her true passion.

This led her to take a bold step forward, joining the full-time programme at Birmingham’s renowned School of Jewellery. Over the next two years, Faye immersed herself in the craft, mastering traditional techniques while also exploring modern methods. During this time, she gained hands-on experience at the Assay Office, where she learned the process of hallmarking.

After completing her HND, Faye stayed on for an additional year, specialising in Design for Industry with a focus on CAD (Computer-Aided Design). Blending classic craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, she pushed her creativity further and was honoured to receive the prestigious GVUK award for her final project.

Shortly after, Faye’s growing expertise led to an exciting opportunity — a role as a CAD designer for Ti Sento, a high-end silver jewellery brand based in Amsterdam. She spent two years in the Netherlands, working closely with the design team and refining her skills in luxury jewellery design.

Upon returning to the UK, Faye continued to work with Ti Sento remotely — a partnership that has now flourished for over 13 years. Working freelance also gave her the flexibility to take on private commissions, designing and crafting bespoke engagement rings, wedding bands, and unique, one-of-a-kind pieces for her clients.

In 2021, just before the birth of her son, Faye briefly ran a professional jewellery cleaning service. It was a rewarding experience, allowing her to restore sentimental pieces to their former glory and witness the joy it brought to her customers.

Two years later, as life settled into a new rhythm, Faye felt a strong pull back to the part of jewellery making that first captured her heart — polishing. It reminded her of where it all began, and with the support of her family, she decided to build on the small business she had started before maternity leave.

And so, The Jewellery Spa was born.

The Jewellery Spa is more than just a business — it is a reflection of Faye’s journey, blending years of experience in design, craftsmanship, and restoration. Whether creating bespoke pieces or reviving treasured heirlooms, her mission remains the same: to celebrate the beauty of jewellery, both old and new.

Looking back, Faye believes that every step of her journey has shaped the path she is on today. From her first retail job to discovering her love for jewellery making, from mastering CAD design to launching her own business — each experience has played a vital role in bringing The Jewellery Spa to life.

And this is only the beginning.
